RJ Taylor - Certified LEED AP

RJ Taylor General Contractors Inc. is pleased to announce that two key employees have attained their LEED AP designation and are now qualified to administer “green” projects seeking certification from the US Green Building Council.

Karl Schuler, President and Jillian Coffey, Project Manager completed USGBC training in February and passed their qualifying exams in March 2009.  Schuler seeks to have every member of his project management team achieve LEED AP status by year end.

Said CEO Jim Taylor; “We believe that sustainable design and construction practices will one day be the norm for our industry.  As a leading commercial general contractor in western New York, RJ Taylor needs to be at the forefront of the green building movement. “

“Regardless of whether the owner is seeking LEED certification, most facilities can benefit by employing some aspects of sustainability into their design.  Every member of RJ Taylor’s staff will soon be qualified to review alternatives with the design team and assess the cost-benefit relationship of those choices for the customer.”

RJ Taylor recently completed their first LEED project for Rochester-based Zeller Corp and expects that the facility will achieve LEED Silver status. The company has several other sustainable projects currently in the planning stages.

Rochester-based RJ Taylor has completed commercial, industrial and multi-family buildings for customers across the state and around the country.  Founded in 1984, RJ Taylor is celebrating their 25th year in business.
